Dear Readers!

Art is sometimes enthralling, sometimes telling a tale, and sometimes inspiring change. It is a concrete object with an ethereal sensation of emotion, regardless of its significance or the aim behind the artist’s thoughts. As different type of art evolves over the period of time, the art industry also evolves dramatically. In the last 45 years, with the expansion of Private museums, Biennales, and various Art Fairs, the art business cognates as a strong foundation for building art. However, the question then arises, in terms of art and the institutions that surround it, what have been the most significant shifts?

In this issue, you’ll find a mix of creative growth in the form of diverse artworks and articles written by young and seasoned art writers and art historians from their points of view. It also touches on the aspects of getting an answer to the question above. It is here where:

Sumati Gangopadhyay writes in Rini’s Tryst with Exotic World about her meeting with Rini Dhumal and her large and diversified collection of artworks.

Kainaat Fatima interviews Sunanda Khajuria about her trip and emotional bondage between the spike of covid19 and her upcoming and creative practice in China and India.

Jyoti A Kathpalia sheds light on Anjolie Ela Menon’s mural Upaj, the story of every Indian supper. It is a weaving of the rich diversity of India in its abundance, fecundity, rituals of food, and feminine principle.

She also attends the Raza Foundation’s art exhibition Yuva Sambhava: Celebrating Creativity and Imagination of 100 Young Artists of India. This review is presented in conjunction with the centenary anniversaries of Raza’s birth.

Rajesh Punj brings our International art news with his interview with the late conceptual artist Christian Boltanski, his last major interview before his untimely death in the year 2021. Christian Liberté Boltanski was a French sculptor, photographer, painter, and filmmaker who is best known for his photography installations and contemporary French conceptual style.

Dr. Seema Bhalla writes about Henri Cartier-Bresson, a French photographer, and Prof. Parmanand Dalwadi, as Dr. Seema Bhalla curates their Photographic Exhibition in collaboration with Bonjour India 2022 and IGNCA from April 21st to April 30th at Art Konsult

Sanjeet Chowdhury’s photo-essay Matsya—35 mm, written by Ranu Roychoudhuri, is based on years of interaction with fish culture in the port towns of Kolkata and Mumbai.

In the Review section, Saraswathy K Bhattathiri writes a Review of UNRULY SYNTAX, and Uma Prakash reviews Bharti Kher’s incredible sculpture exhibition titled “Strange Attractors”, which consists of nostalgic, mysterious, and melancholic works.

Gaurav Kumar pays a visit to the Art Heritage Gallery, New Delhi and shares his thoughts on Rajesh Deb’s contemporary artworks. The title “Neverland Post Office” exhibits the latest series of acrylics, woodcuts, and ink.

At the invitation of Princess Vaishnavi Kumari of Kishangarh, he travels to the Phool Palace of Kishangarh, Rajasthan to witness the preview of “The Path of Grace,” a solo exhibition of Studio Kishangarh. This exhibition would further took a trip to Bikaner House on April 28th to 5th May, 2022, in the Capital City of India, Delhi.
