Every story is a labour of pen, personal travelogue of writers, laced with heart warming conversations and reports from the ground.

This month we carved some special stories on museums, intriguing conversation with Iti tyagi on a very special craft village nestled in Delhi’s green patch, away from the hustle of the city and a very comprehensive report on fourth edition of Bahrain International Art Fair.

Upasana Bhattacharya from Art and Deal met with the veteran artist cum art educator Niren Sengupta at his space and experienced his prolific journey with canvas. Niren Sengupta was born in January 1940 in Bengal. He was the former Principal of College of Art, New Delhi. For him, art is an expression of inner language. His communion with happenings around him evolves and reflects in his works. His works are aesthetic expressions of his inner reflections infused with serenity, sacrifice, service and beauty. He has several solo and prestigious group exhibitions to his credit.

Ritika Lall Charavartty senior editor of Art and Deal was in Bahrain to cover the fourth edition of Art BAB Bahrain Across Borders. Art BAB (Bharain Across Borders) is the most captivating Art Fair of Middle East of recent times. In four years, Art BAB has created its name and trust amongst, artists and art critics, art enthusiasts. Fourth edition of Art BAB evolved in every direction, created very captivating canvas to admire. Eleven countries, sixteen galleries and thirty-two Bharani artists participated in the premier exhibition. Exhibition not only show cased artists from Bahrain and across but has brought Bahrain on global map today. This exhibition is a great initiative to bridge and address political and social issues of international concerns too. Bahrain’s active propagation in art and hospitality is making it a most trusted nation to unify on art and aesthetics. In furtherance it will also prove instrumental in breaking many existing myths.

Lina Vincent talks about Goa Chita Ethnographic museum, which descents from the busy and commercial beaches and tucked in a serene corner Benaulim south Goa. Museum: a conglomerate of three spaces– Goa Chitra (the flagship museum) containing over 4,000 artefacts that showcase Goa’s rich agrarian economy and history. Goa Chakra holds a display of ancient modes of transportation from all over India; and Goa Cruti’s collection is based on Goa’s colonial past. Lina succeeds tunnelling the mind into virtual tour experience through the captivating words and brings a new perspective of and hidden world.

Manglesh Dabral writes about the uniqueness and diversity of Uttarakhand and its artistic endeavours. He amplifies the noble initiative of late artist Surendra Pal Joshi, who laboured hard and built museum Uttara Samkaleen Kala Sangrahalaya (Uttara Museum for contemporary Art)is a significant attempt to bring the modern and contemporary art activities under one roof. First of its kind, it is indeed a dynamic initiative for creating space for contemporary and future art of Uttarkhand. It comprises a permanent display of the works.

Dihraj Singh takes on his experiential journey of art and heritage confluence. He elaborates various heritage buildings are collaboration with curators and bringing magnificent art show. Diharj talks Chennai Photo Biennale. He underlines vintage spaces being prolifically used and refined by holding a photo Biennale. He also accounts various other place and their initiative on art heritage amalgamation and how itis creating a mass reach through this.

Clyde D’Mello brings the talk on Time, Space and Mind through archival importance and Clyde also brings its significance and changing dynamics of archival through social media. Clyde focuses on archiving techniques and skill and brings the importance archivist.The Job of an archivist is difficult, archiving is based on facts and histories so that whatever the work maybe it endures, and it is recorded in the annals of history forfuture generations to have a clear and crisp idea of the past.

TanishkaD’Lyma writes an art review on ‘Making Art: Material and Technology’. The exhibition was is going on at Piramal Museum of Art 24.02.19 to 15.06.19. It’s a unique exhibition where the thoughts on art is not of prime importance or the philosophy. The evolvement of art. Art as universal evolving medium has been focused. The exhibition is an engaging platform for the visitors and helps the art enthusiast to understand the tools and material through which art shaped.
