India Art Festival’s second edition concluded in Mumbai with huge expectations
India Art Festival, a modern and contemporary art fair,
hosted from 28 Nov to 02 Dec, 2012 in Mumbai showcased
more than 3000 artworks. There were 40 art galleries along
with 300 individual artists that participated in the second
edition India Art Festival from 50 different cities across the
world. After the successful first edition of India Art Festival
(IAF) last year at Nehru Centre, Mumbai, the second edition
of IAF was shifted to the huge MMRDA ground at a business
district of Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai.
The VIP preview on 28 Nov, 2012 saw huge attendance
from art collectors, artists, architects, interior designers,
corporate honchos and socialites from all over the country.
The second edition of India Art Festival consisted more than
175 air-conditioned booths, huge outdoor sculpture park,
VIP Lounge, and auditorium for ‘IAF conversations’. India
Art Festival is the only mixed art fair module in the world,
in which art galleries and individual artists exhibit under
one roof.
The ‘India Art Festival conversations’, a collateral event
was programmed by renowned poet & cultural theorist
Ranjit Hoskote. IAF Conversations made make the India
Art Festival an interactive experience for the visitors. IAF
conversations, a two-day conference held in an auditorium
adjoining the general exhibition space at the IAF venue
were led by an eminent set of speakers including artists,
gallerists, museum directors, critics, historians, cultural
commentators, editors and publishers. The Speakers
presented and discussed insightful ideas on the various
subjects & issues concerning contemporary art.
