The works by Fawad Tamkanat and Nipun Kumar clubbed together into a showtitled, ‘Crosscurrents’ were recently on display at Gallery Space, Hyderabad from July through August. The works by both the artists included in the show traverse through the urban terrain, transcending reality into a deeper understanding and stance. The paradigms and the periphery of the ‘city life’ get extended into spaces that are profound and imbibe unbounded textures and tales. The works by Fawad Tamkanat exemplify the diverse, completely contrasting elements that come together and inspite of being mismatched, blend mystically to grant the city its jubilant essence and charm. On the other hand, Nipun Kumar delves deep into the mind of an urban dweller and his surroundings, overlapping his ideas/metaphors till he is satisfied and has arrived at a crisp dialogue.
