A management professional who did her post graduate in management studies from University of Cambridge besides completing an arts course in College of Art, Edinburgh, Scotland, Salonika presents a well curated body of work at a solo exhibition that will launch on the 21st of March.
Learning to cherish flora and fauna from her father Kamal Meattle, a well-known environmentalist, Salonika believes that plants, “Not only bring a feeling of warmth to the home, but also usher in healthy air for the lungs to breathe easy in.”
Driven by reality, her brush strokes use colour generously as Salonika tries to create paintings that are abundantly green and picture real. In her works can be found thickly populated green vistas with generously large palms, sumptuously bright flowers, shining bright perennials perched against a pristine blue sky.
“My father has been an environmentalist for the last 30 plus years. Also, we have always lived surrounded by a lot of greenery. Hence my interest in flora and fauna. I am an animal lover as well along with being a pranic healer and I use my energies to bring positive chi into people’s lives” explains Salonika.
Salonika’s first-ever solo exhibition will include her art and drawings inspired from nature and the significance of how each element of nature can transform the vibration of our home. Spanning her career and a significant collection of paintings the exhibition will bring together twenty paintings from this collection.
