Seema Kolhi: Golden Womb-Dawn of Time

A series of works by Seema Kohli, curated by Lina Vincent Sunish titled, “Golden womb-dawn of time’, are on display at Kalakriti art gallery, Hyderabad (from19th February to 5th April).The show excels in bringing forth the quintessential core of the artist’s oeuvre established in varied media.The wide array of paintings, prints, poetry, performative acts and sculptures exhibited in the show, mesmerised the art lovers and art enthusiasts, tremendously. Each Medium,seems to adapt and completely surrender to Seema’s style/tone of expression. The medium, refrains itself from making its physical aspects become too conspicuous andthus beautifully allows the artist to transfer her fables onto it with a natural flow and momentum.

The realms of expanses created on the pictorial surface by Seema Kohli are seamless. They seem to mutate, converse with one another and get merged into continuously expanding territories. The artist like a fluent story teller weaves anecdotes and intricacies that have historical, mythological with contemporary, even spiritual as well as immensely personal strengths and references.
