Playing Around -d-is-play [DELHI]

An experimental yet frisky exhibition,d-is-play, was on view from July 7 – 21, 2015,at NIV Art Centre, New Delhi. The exhibition was organized by Shield Art Initiative in association with NIV Art Centre where Shield is an initiative by two young womenPranamita Borgohain, andSuchismitaMohanty, to embrace art in everyday life.
Shield has been organizing events as D’Art – a bi-monthly talk initiative, performance art workshops for girls from economically weaker section, documentary screenings followed by discussionfrom the last seven months. Niv Art Centre has generously offered them their space to showcase the creative oeuvre of these young artists. Where, the group includes fourteen young artists with few fresh pass out students from College of Art, Delhi University, and Ambedkar University, Delhi along with few established ones. The curator has also hosted an interactive session with eminent artists such as Sheila Makhijani and Jagannath Panda, to guide and boost the young participants of d-is-play.
