Revisiting Deepor Beel

Revisiting Deepor Beel, a travelling workshop under the festival Kala Samanvayaa 2015 was held at Deepor Beel village, Near Guwahati from 13th – 16th January. The workshop was a site specific interdisciplinary art practice where all the activities had been done in a collaborative way by bringing together an international and interdisciplinary group of artists that included painters, filmmakers, musicians and an environmental engineer.
To generate a common language of art and creativity intending to wipe out the invisible gaps between different art forms, AESTHETIC held a festival called Kala Samanvayaa from the 13th to the 20th of January, 2015. AESTHETIC is a group of creative artists who are actively working for the promotion of art and culture in the north eastern states of India since 2005. They have done several activities like creating a collective juncture that comprises different art practitioners working over a diverse medium.
They work towards a public concern to impart information and awareness to the local folks and communities. The workshop addressed some of the concerns related to our environment and ecosystem revealing the untold story of mother nature dominated by human aggression and devastation.
