Santiniketan at Lalit Kala Akademi – [DELHI] – Sushma Sabnis
The show slated to commence on 24th October through to
30th October 2013, is one of its kind owing to the legendary
artists/faculty members participating in it. The Kala Bhavana
faculty members have been acknowledged since time
immemorial for their innovative approaches to art and art
practices and their creative experimentations with new and
unknown mediums. Bonded to their indigenous identity, the
faculty members have never shied away from encouraging
contemporary art practices, making the Kala Bhavana a dream
for the students and the teachers alike. Maintaining their
inherent self-identity and styles, which is reflected in the works,
the faculty members aim to show the world, for the very first
time, what art can be in a dynamic and ever-evolving art world.
On show are sculptures, castes and carved in a multitude of
materials, along with installation art works, prints, paintings,
ceramics and design art works. The show will display works of
legends like K. G. Subramanyan, Sanat Kar, Jogen Chowdhury
