Celebrating the sixth year of partnership, LAWSGROUP and French May Arts Festival collaborate with street art gallery L’Epicerie Fine HK and three street artists from France and Hong Kong to present a curated group show, From Street to Knit” at The Garage of D2 Place TWO on 23rd May. The exhibition is open for public from 24th May to 9th June with free admission.

From Street to Knit” will present the artworks co-created by French artists Binokl and Le Cyklop and Hong Kong artist Bao Ho, and Laws Knitters of LAWSGROUP. Fifteen exclusive works by the three artists will be on display, from 2D street-art on paper and digital sketches to 3D sculpture street-art, alongside fifteen original knit artworks in both 2D canvas and 3D sculpture forms crafted by Laws Knitters of LAWSGRROUP at its own studio.

“The collaboration of From Street to Knit” with LAWSGROUP between different entities is to bring about cultural exchange as well as technical exchange, unboxing the imagination of audiences on street-art and knit-art, as well as fostering exchange of Hong Kong and French culture,” said Mr. Xavier Mahé, General Manager of French May Arts Festival.

“This time, Laws Knitters initiates the exhibition to showcase its knitting craftsmanship. The works of the three street artists were crafted into original knit art creations and are presented to the public. From 2D knit-art on canvas to 3D volume knit-art, this special collaboration will definitely bring freshness and insights into the art world through textile heritage. With an aim to pass down local knit art craftsmanship, Laws Knitters opens its own studio crafting knit products, hence, to promote reindustrialization in Hong Kong. In addition, we are about to launch the Yarn Bombing campaign in which our community will be decorated with colorful knit art pieces,” said Mr. Bosco Law, Deputy Chairman and CEO of LAWSGROUP.
