“Sculpture is frozen music”. To comment on his works states sculptor Sushen Ghosh. Not only that through his sculptures he has embodied the music in a true sense or to say he could have said it because he has worked a lot. Those which are attractive among the sculptures around Santiniketan after Ramkinkar are of Sushen Ghosh, of our dear Sushen da. He was born on 1st May, 1940 in Silchar, Assam. Sushen the dear student of Ramkinkar completed his art studies at Kala Bhavana in 1963 at age of 23. The same year he joined as a teacher at Kala Bhavana. Ramkinkar leat for Delhi to work on ‘Yaksha-Yakshi’ a Government commissioned project and made him in-charge of the sculpture classes during his absence: he also assisted Binode Behari Mukherjee in his Art History classes. He got enriched with Ramkinkar’s company. Having a scholarship from the British council, 1969 he earned an advanced diploma known as ‘Goldsmiths’ College School of Art Diploma’, London University, UK in 1970.
