In our opening cover story Myna Mukherjee explores Anindita’s unique style of work, with multiple layers of medium and meaning. Bharti Kher has established herself as a contemporary artist to reckon globally, Rajesh Punj talks to her about her upcoming exhibition in Paris as she puts together an array of new concepts experimenting with material as well as her known style with Bindis. In his second interview he is in conversation with Tony Cragg a sculptor who creates intriguing mysterious shapes like tiny curled up dimensions projected onto a large scale. Brightly coloured contortions of wood, metal and glass.

Another sculptor in focus is Sushen Ghosh a student of legendary Ram Kinkar Baij with undoubted influence of his teacher on his style; as perceived by Sutanu Chaterjee. Lina Vincent Sunish takes the reader on a sojorn through the Chapel in Padua, the Chapel exterior looks plain, conversely the interior is a splendid revelation of painted narratives by Giotto Di Bondone well preserved to a large extent. Dr. Ashrafi S. Bhagat reflects upon the usage of light for various effects depicting subjects in paintings through the history of art by masters like Rembrandt Van Rijn and Johannes Vermeer etc.Kalicharan Gupta is a senior contemporary abstractionist with a global appeal, Apurva Sinha decodes in an interview.

H A Anil Kumar is mesmerised by the colossal interactive installation work Floating Piers by artist Christo that was built on the picturesque lake Iseo in Brescia near Solzano, 650 kms north of Rome. Floating Piers lasted a few days but its impression shall last forever.
