Serendipity Arts Festival Goa- A Curtain Raiser
Lina Vincent Sunish
Goa, a place that has often been just a backdrop for events because of its beaches, sunny tempers, parties and good food, an ideal work-cum-holiday getaway. What is it about Goa currently that makes it amenable to cultural activity?
Over the last few years, there has been an influx of creative people to this little state in India. From wanting to be secluded and to retire in solitude, there are creative people eager to experiment, to make a mark, share their talents and create platforms for others to extend their practices. A mix of resident artists, designers, architects, writers and others, along with those who have left Goa long ago are coming back, are joined by others in broadening the cultural sphere of Goa. The city/ state has great potential for the arts, education, cultural expression, and even technological development, and that is why the Serendipity Arts Trust, headed by Mr. Sunil Kant Munjal – Chairman, Hero Corporate Service Pvt. Ltd, have decided to host the first edition of the Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa. It is slated to be India’s premier, curated, interdisciplinary arts Festival to be held in Goa from December 16 – 23, 2016.
