Mona Lisa and My Experience of
Viewing A Novel Magnum Opus:
An Ecstatic Feeling And Brief Overview

Though my interest in Mona Lisa or Leonardo and also the great European painting tradition especially the Renaissance period has been grown and nourished initially as in class of two giant academicians Prof. R. Shiva Kumar and Prof. Gulam Mohammed Sheikh during my study period at Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan and M. S University of Baroda.

Abhoy Duarah and based on the famous lyrics “Shillongore Monalisa Lyngdoh” penned by Bhupen Hazarika also comes to mind in this regard. Though my interest in Mona Lisa or Leonardo and also the great European painting tradition especially the Renaissance period has been grown and nourished initially as in classes of two giants academicians Prof. R. Shiva Kumar and Prof. Gulam Mohammed Sheikh during my study period at Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan and M. S University of Baroda. Before writing on Mona Lisa, I would feel guilty if I did not write a few lines about the organization Camel Art Foundation, Mumbai which has organised and sponsored that coveted Euro Art Tour every year since 1998.
