Cultural Entrepreneuship

Tanya Abraham

Cultural Entrepreneurship is a topic, which has interested me for a long time. The challenge, having been in the creative field for a while now, lies in the idea of lucrativeness. Entrepreneurship brings alive the picture of lucrativeness, a certain element of profit involved in an activity concerning business. Interesting. But how possible is it? If possible, how extensive is it? Cultural entrepreneurship is connected to society and thus indirectly to social entrepreneurship. But there remains a distinction that is vital for us to be aware of; where cultural entrepreneurship is intricately attached to the promotion, support and development of the arts in society, to bring about change in society (intellectually, socially, emotionally, economically). Such investment in society allows the growth of art from various angles, and thus encourages the bringing forth of a very vital aspect of human life and anthropology.
