Wanderlust Nature: Three Artists Tribute to Ram Kinkar Baij

Very recently a group exhibition of paintings was held in Delhi, at one of the capital city’s premier art gallery named as Lokayata, popularly known as the Mulkraj Anand Centre. Three young contemporary artists, from Bengal but settled in Delhi, exhibited their recent works under one canopy. The exhibition was entitled “Wanderlust Nature” and curated by Anindya Kanti Biswas. The exhibition was a eulogy to Ramkinkar Baij celebrating his 111th birth centenary. In the delightful and bountiful nature of 21st century Post Modern India, three artists; Anindya Kanti Biswas, Dr. Rajarshi Chakrabarti and Rituparno Maity in their offset youths are celebrating an exhibition dedicated to their return to nature. Each and every year wherever Anindya was he celebrated the birthday of his guru Ramkinkar Baij. Last year he has celebrated this legendary artist’s birthday at Indore in the residence of his one of the great disciple artist Mr. Dinanath Bhargava where assembled two another direct students of Ramkinkar Baij. For the last 22 years Anindya followed this path at a regular interval, on 25th May. Among those present at the inauguration ceremony of the exhibition were two of Ramkinkar’s direct disciples; Mr. Metharam Dharmani, Mr. D.D.Monoj, the Director General Adwaita Gadanayak, Crafts Museum’s Senior Director Mr. Sohon Kumar Jha and many more reputed personalities.
