Gopi Gajwani:
Short Poems in Colour

Preeti Kathuria

Gajwani’s recent solo show titled “Meditative Silence” at Triveni, New Delhi was loved by many and Gajwani’slively presence and interaction with his audience amidst the spirited display of his works had a sweeping impact on the viewers.,

traditionalist soil, Gopi Gajwani’s works challenge the conventions of form and formlessness in art and in music, all at the same time. His art weaves music and art together seamlessly, and he says, “Colours too, make a sound. They can be loud and low, in tune or out of tune. There is a great degree of sensitivity required here.” Working with observation and experience as his raw material, Gajwani ventures between the generic and the specific, the actual and the virtual, where every stroke is deployed as a carrier of emotion and energy. He lets simplicity play the notations of his feelings and the dialogic nature of his paintings blurs everything that clouds the mind.
