Vitality and Resonance in Vineet Kacker’s Digging Time

Uma Nair[Delhi]

Visiting a ceramic show is something that gets my juices flowing. And when the curator is Vineet Kacker I know that the journey itself will be one of great vitality. At the onset Digging Time is a phrase that contains more than a thousand possibilities, because time has this transient but ephemeral feel and it is indeed elusive in terms of the clasp of time in contemporary reality. But to evoke imagery of the concept of digging is going in the opposite direction because it presents a plethora of permutations. Art Positive is a fascinating little spatial inclusion-it offers a quaint sensory feel to a visitor and I do recall stepping in once to see a sumptuous watercolour done by artist Sudip Roy. To the left as you step in stands Vineet Kacker’s work –Time Mandala -Yesterdays Were Once- The Matrix of Momentousness sets me thinking of the Carpenter’s song Yesterday Once More. But Vineet’s sojourn is one that is succinctly spiritual-it has deeper intentions and notations that have accumulated over years of a mendicant mooring.
