Art for Concern: Creating Value Through Art

Aahana Dhar

Art is not always for art’s sake, as demonstrated by Concern India Foundation’s ‘Art for Concern’ exhibitions being held successfully across the country for more than a decade now. An art exhibition that showcases the eclectic works of established and upcoming artists from across the country at affordable prices, the Art for Concern exhibitions are some of the most awaited art events for novice art collectors and art aficionados alike. Started in 2001, the Art for Concern exhibitions focus at not just raising funds for the underprivileged section of society, but also provide a platform for struggling and needy artists, giving them an opportunity to be visible alongside well known masters of Indian art. “It is heartening to see that, over the years, Art for Concern has garnered the support of so many artists who feel the need to contribute to our work at the Concern India Foundation. While the main goal of this unique initiative is to raise funds for those in need, it also showcases the works of many upcoming and underprivileged artists, providing them with an opportunity to be visible on a prominent platform alongside masters,” says Kavita Shah, CEO of Concern India Foundation about the rising popularity of the exhibitions over the years.
