“Man is a singular creature. He has a set of gifts which make him unique among animals: so that, unlike them, he is not a figure in the landscape – he is a shaper of the landscape. In body and in mind he is the explorer of nature. The ubiquitous animal who did not only discover but has made his home in every continent.” In mid November; 2014, a magnificent art workshop was held in the pleasant atmospheric scenario of SSVAD Art centre, Santiniketan where the art-world saw 22 renowned contemporary Indian artists as they practiced their art together, highly inspired by what Nature inspired them for.

The invited artists were K G Subramanyan, Anjolie Ela Menon, Jogen Chowdhury, Arpana Caur, Himmat Shah, K S Radhakrishnan, Manu Parekh, Madhvi Parekh, Sunil Das, Jayasri Burman, Jayashree Chakravarty, Subrata Gangapadhyay, Shuvaprasanna, Sipra Bhattacharjee, Paresh Maity, Chandra Bhattacharjee, Prabhakar Kolte, Ganesh Haloi, Lalu Prasad Shaw, K Laxma Gaud, Sakti Burman, and S G Vasudev.
