The Spiritual Zenith
Pranamita Borgohain
Neeraj Goswami’s solo show titled, ‘Liquid Distillation of Animated
Consciousness’ was showcased at Lalit Kala Akademi, Rabindra Bhavan,
New Delhi from 29th January 2013 to 4thFebruary 2013 organized by
Agra based Sanchit Art Gallery. Sanchit Art dealing with the best of
contemporary Indian Art will soon be expanding their presence in Delhi
with their new space in Saket, New Delhi.
The exhibition opened with the launch of a coffee table book ‘Liquid
Distillation of Animated Consciousness’, on the life and works of the artist
.In the book Arun Ghose (the author) aims to draw a closer relationship
between the artist’s life and his art. He traces the roots of Neeraj and his art
as a conscious product of similar and spiritual aspiration and an artist who
openly declares his art as true reflection of his spiritual progress.
Goswami has showcased his gamut of works after several years in such
a comprehensive manner. There were around ninety works varying from
few very huge canvases to some very small format drawings where some
of them were his fresh creations while others were from his old collection.
The small drawings and mixed media were from Goswami’s own collection
and were on public view for the first time. In fact the exhibition has been
quite in proximity to a retrospective of his art extending over four halls of
the Lalit Kala Galleries
